Every couple of years, members of the Sanctuary Home Board of Directors visit India to interact with the children, widows, and orphanage staff, and to provide some hands-on oversight to the endeavors our Father allows us to oversee. In December 2013, seven of the board members went to Tenali and the surrounding area. We were blessed by what we saw and participated in, and were further convicted that this is indeed a worthy mission.
During our trip, we spent time with the orphans; engaged the children with a three-night Vacation Bible School; checked up on the widows and provided each widow with a month's worth of rice and a new sari; visited with the teachers and slum children at Hope Village, and also provided the children at the school with new sporting equipment; and discussed operations with Isaac, the director of the orphanage. Additionally, we traveled to some of the home churches in the area to give them support and encouragement; dedicated a new church building for one of the villages; visited a hospital where we passed out food to the patients and prayed over many of them; participated in a preachers' conference where we spoke to nearly two hundred of the area's preachers; and dedicated our second water well.
The trip was busy and physically exhausting, but was a blessing to us and to the people we served and encouraged. We believe that God confirmed to us through this trip that the Sanctuary Home efforts are beneficial to His kingdom in India.
We thank those of you who prayed for our safety and for a successful trip.
