Leprosy

For millennia, leprosy was believed to be a divine curse, a consequence of wrongdoing, or an inherited affliction. Since ancient times, the term "leprosy" has evoked unsettling images of bodies marked by disease and deformity. The profound stigma attached to this condition has rendered it synonymous with abandonment, societal isolation, and a sentence to a lifetime on the fringes of society.
People from the lower castes of Indian society who catch leprosy are truly considered as the outcasts of their culture. Even with the earliest signs of the disease, they may be shunned from their families and villages. Many of these people are relegated to living in government-run leper colonies, so they are in effect removed from society.
We work to help a group of Christians from one of these leper colonies, providing them with food and assistance with their medical needs.
By donating, you are providing these brothers and sisters with their basic needs, and showing Jesus' love through your kindness.
