Why We Do This Work
At Sanctuary Ministries, our work is guided by a simple conviction: people need both physical help and spiritual hope.
Throughout southeast India, many families struggle with poverty, hunger, and limited opportunity. At the same time, millions have never heard the message of Jesus Christ. Because of this, our ministry seeks to care for those in need while sharing the love and truth of Christ.
Every ministry we operate flows from this calling—to serve others with compassion while pointing people toward the hope found in Him.
Compassion Opens Doors
The ministries of Sanctuary Ministries are built around meeting real needs in people’s lives. Children are given a safe home and an education through our children's home and our school. Widows receive assistance and encouragement. Communities gain access to clean water. Families in difficult circumstances find help and support.
These acts of compassion meet immediate physical needs, but they also create opportunities for something deeper. When people experience genuine care and kindness, it opens the door for conversations about faith, hope, and the message of Christ.
We believe that caring for people in practical ways reflects the love of God and helps create natural opportunities to share His Word.
A Spiritual Need That Is Often Unseen
In many parts of India, the message of Jesus Christ is still unfamiliar. While Christianity has existed in the country for centuries, large portions of the population have little understanding of the Gospel.
Much of the culture is shaped by other religious traditions and beliefs that are very different from the teachings of Christ. Because of this, the Good News of salvation through Jesus is often something people are hearing for the very first time.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
Because we believe this message is true, we desire to share it with those who have never heard it before.
Planting Seeds of the Gospel
Our role is not to force belief, but to faithfully share the message of Christ while serving others with humility and compassion.

Sometimes the seeds of faith take root quickly. Other times they grow slowly over time. Jesus described this in the parable of the sower—some seeds fall on hard ground, some among thorns, and some on fertile soil where they grow and bear fruit.

In the same way, we seek to faithfully plant seeds of God’s Word through the ministries and through the people He has put before us. We pray that hearts will be open and that many will come to know the hope and salvation found in Christ.
